Bukola Saraki found a way to escape prosecution as his loyalists plan to amend the Constitution to grant him impunity.

Bukola Saraki will not face prosecution until the expiration of his powers as the Senate President in case his loyalists in the National Assembly will amend the constitution of Nigeria.
Leo Ogor, the Minority Leader of the House of Reps, told the press that the president of Nigeria and his vice-president should not be the only ones who enjoy immunity; the heads of the legislative and the judiciary branches of power should be protected from persecution as well.

The 1999 Constitution amendments will include the introduction of the immunity for the Senate President and his deputy, the Speaker of the House of Reps and his deputy and the Chief Justice of the Federation as well.

Saraki had failed to appear at the tribunal last Friday, prompting Justice Danladi Umar of the CCT to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase or other security agencies to arrest Saraki and produce him in court on Monday to take plea in the 13-count charge.
