Diezani Alison-Madueke |
Sam Piranty, a journalist with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), who is monitoring the event revealed this via his twitter handle.
Mrs Alison-Madueke, was arrested on Friday, October 2, by the International Corruption Unit (ICU) of the UK’s National Crimes Agency and was later granted bail after been detained for several hours.
The agency disclosed that five people were arrested “across London” as part of an investigation into suspected bribery and money laundering offenses, adding that investigation into activities of Alison-Madueke, started back in 2013.
The presidency earlier on Monday, October 5, confirmed her arrest, saying that all the government investigative agencies are working very closely with the British law enforcement.
In the same vein operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed the Asokoro, Abuja residence of the former petroleum minister, in what has been described as part of a multinational investigation of the former minister.
Three
suicide bomb attacks that killed 20 people in Abuja on Friday were
carried out by Boko Haram, the group claimed late Sunday.
In
a series of posts on Twitter, Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the
blasts at a bus stop in Nyanya neighborhood and a police station and
market in Kuje.
The
group, which identified itself as the Islamic State in West Africa
Province after pledging allegiance to Daesh, posted the names and
photographs of three female bombers. More than 40 were injured in the
coordinated attacks.
The Arabic tweets were verified by SITE, an online terrorism monitoring group.
